August’s rock music club

From gothic punk to operatic female vocals, this month’s meeting had it all (items 5, 6 and 8 go on my list):

  • Nothing Gold Can Wait by The Duke and the King, the name of the band of the Felice brother, Simone, who left the Felice Brothers
  • Dark Days Light Years by The Super Furry Animals
  • Primary Colours by The Horrors
  • The Dead Weather’s Horehound – Jack White’s new project
  • Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix by Phoenix, an intriguing French electro outfit
  • The Wolves in the Woods by Downhills Home, a local band I’d love to see
  • Kate Miller-Heidke’s Curiouser
  • The Century of Self by alt-rock cult band And They Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead
  • Sarah Blasko’s As Day Follows Night
  • EmilĂani Torrini’s Me and Armini
  • Notes and Rhymes by The Proclaimers
