Seeing ten films in a month is more difficult than it seems but August is aided by the film festival:
- Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds hits our screens towards the end of the month
- Tyson – I’m tagging this as a look at evil but let’s not judge before seeing
- The Hurt Locker – drama about a bomb squad in Iraq
- In the Loop – a satirical look at the British decision to invade Iraq
- Duplicity – a comedy thriller (out on DVD) with Clive Owen
- The Watchmen – who knows if I’ll like this (I missed it live) but the DVD is a must-see, I’m told
- Blessed – Ana Kokkinos’s latest
- The Cove – an intriguing doco underwater in Japan
- Balibo – the film festival’s opener but I’ll see it at our local
- Letter to Anna – a documentary tribute to murdered Russian journalist Anna Politskovskaya
