Barry Dickins’s depression

I’ve read few of the substantive works of Melbourne writer Barry Dickins but I greatly admire his easy, semi-poetic style. What a shock to read in the latest Australian Bookseller and Publisher that last year he was diagnosed with significant clinical depression. Actually, the AB&P news is contained in a review of his memoir account of that depression and the subsequent treatment and recovery. I’ll get Unparalleled Sorrow as soon as it comes out in August.
