Rock music club offerings

Monday night’s auditory samplings were as diverse as ever:

  • Rise of the Phoenix – somehow the title itself suggests that Pyrothian is a prog-metal band
  • Regina Spektor’s Far, which reminded me a little of Aimee Mann
  • The adventurous music and swagger of The Bachelor by Patrick Wolf
  • Tuneful songwriting from Bob Evans on Goodnight, Bull Creek!
  • Wilco’s latest, strangely enough self titled, which sounded just fine
  • Hidden Hands by Jen Cloher & The Endless Sea
  • From yours truly, Jason Lytle’s Yours Truly, The Commuter
  • Another instrumental epic from Mogwai, with the perfect title of The Hawk Is Howling
  • Local rock sensation The Temper Trap with their Conditions
