Monday night’s auditory samplings were as diverse as ever:
- Rise of the Phoenix – somehow the title itself suggests that Pyrothian is a prog-metal band
- Regina Spektor’s Far, which reminded me a little of Aimee Mann
- The adventurous music and swagger of The Bachelor by Patrick Wolf
- Tuneful songwriting from Bob Evans on Goodnight, Bull Creek!
- Wilco’s latest, strangely enough self titled, which sounded just fine
- Hidden Hands by Jen Cloher & The Endless Sea
- From yours truly, Jason Lytle’s Yours Truly, The Commuter
- Another instrumental epic from Mogwai, with the perfect title of The Hawk Is Howling
- Local rock sensation The Temper Trap with their Conditions
